Explore The Netherlands easily by using multiple means of public transport like train, bus, tram, or metro. Purchase your e-ticket for your journey in the 9292 app. We will explain how to purchase an e-ticket and inform you about which public transport companies are included. We offer a temporary 15% discount on NS train e-tickets from 22 April 2023 until 7 May 2023.

Travel with a 15% discount from 22 April 2023 until 7 May 2023

Are you traveling by NS train during off-peak hours during the May holiday? Then we offer you a nice discount of 15% on your NS train e-tickets purchased via the 9292 app.

The off-peak hours are:

  • On weekdays between 00:00 and 06:30, between 09:00 and 16:00, and between 18:30 and 24:00;
  • During the weekend (all day)
  • On public holidays. Be aware! Liberation Day (5 May 2023) is not an official holiday in 2023. It also means that you cannot travel with a discount all day on Liberation Day.

How do I purchase e-tickets in the 9292 app?

Plan your trip in the 9292 app. The best travel options will be displayed on your screen. Compare travel options, select the best one and purchase your e-ticket instantly by clicking "Purchase e-tickets" below the travel advice in your app. In the next screens, select the number of people and the section of the route that you need a ticket for.

After filling in the details for yourself and any fellow travellers, you can proceed to payment.

The tickets can only be used on the phone where they were purchased. These cannot be forwarded to another person.

Payment and travel

Payment in the app can be made through iDEAL or with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express). Once you've paid for your e-ticket(s), they will immediately appear in the app and you can commence your journey. Your e-tickets can be found under "My e-tickets" in the menu of your 9292 app.

The e-ticket you have purchased is your valid pass, entitling you to travel immediately. With your 9292 e-ticket on your phone, you can open any gates you encounter along the way. The app enables you to present the e-ticket quickly during any check by a conductor or when boarding at the driver's door.

Please note! The tickets can be used only on the phone on which they were purchased. They cannot be forwarded to another person.

Which public transport companies allow purchase of tickets through 9292?

We have started selling e-tickets in collaboration with a large number of public transport companies. You can use the app to purchase e-tickets at the price offered by these companies. These are one-way, hourly and RIT tickets. We are continuously working to connect the other public transport companies for all routes and to expand the selection.
